Spring & Gas (most probably H2S) outflow from North Anatolian Fault (NAF).

Near fault trenching location we noticed this hot tube :) with the affect of faulting a water and gas rise to the surface. It has little eggy smell that means H2S which is extremely deadly gas. When we monitored it, YES! IT IS H2S, causing animal deaths which are coming to drink water. During site works, a few birds has died near bubbling water.   Continues water outflow had triggered a shallow landslide at which is pretty small but obvious.

The fault (right lateral slip-strike with some vertical components) which we dug, caused a big earthquake at 1939 and had about 10.5m displacement ( that is really respectful). In two trench we found it to determine displacement parameters.

It is really awesome to meet NAF!
